Budget 2026-27
According to the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 27 mandatory functions along with general responsibilities have been vested in the Grama Panchayat. Efforts have been made to ensure more efficient execution of the Panchayat’s responsibilities and to make service delivery more people-oriented. Adequate allocations have been provided, and opinions from Gram Sabhas as well as other suggestions received by the Grama Panchayat have been incorporated into development and welfare activities.
As we know, it was through the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act that local bodies attained their present status, powers, and access to funds. In accordance with government directives, when higher allocations are required for certain schemes, the availability of funds for other developmental activities may become limited. As a local self-government institution, we are engaged in a collective effort to bring qualitative changes to society.
This budget has attempted to give importance to areas ranging from our Panchayat’s prestigious LIFE Housing Project to the tourism sector. According to the 2011 Census, women constitute 50.6% of the total population of Kulasekharapuram Grama Panchayat. Special attention has therefore been given to women’s health, education, and employment sectors. Guidelines and support measures have also been included to improve the social status of women and promote self-employment opportunities.
This budget touches upon all major sectors including drinking water, transportation, health, energy, and agriculture.
“Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory.”
