Annual Plan 2026-27
The “Annual Plan” is the official action plan prepared every year by the Grama Panchayat or the Block/District Panchayats for carrying out development activities.
It is a plan that specifies the development activities to be undertaken during the upcoming financial year (from April 1 to March 31), the amount of money to be spent, and the sectors that should be given priority.
Sectors commonly included in the Annual Plan:
- Roads, drinking water, and drainage
- Housing assistance
- Agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry
- Women and child development
- Health and sanitation
- Education
- Schemes for the elderly and differently abled persons
- Employment and self-employment opportunities
The usual process of preparing the Annual Plan includes:
- Collecting people’s needs and suggestions through Ward Sabhas
- Conducting various development seminars
- Selecting priority projects
- Finalizing the budget and funding sources
- Obtaining approval from the Panchayat Committee
- Securing government approval and implementing the projects
